About the Role

Lyra is at the forefront of increasing access to evidence-based, efficacious mental health services on a large scale by leveraging technology and clinical excellence. Lyra has developed innovative blended models of coaching and psychotherapy that combine leading clinical expertise with routine outcomes monitoring and engaging clinical digital tools. Scientific publications on Lyra’s mental health coaching, psychotherapy, medication management, and workforce mental health programs provide strong evidence for the clinical effectiveness of these evidence-based treatment programs.

We are looking for a licensed therapist who is passionate about leveraging state of the art technology, including artificial intelligence, to significantly expand access to evidence-based mental health interventions. Requirements for this role include extensive clinical knowledge, experience and skills in safety risk assessment and management as well as delivery of various evidence-based mental health interventions for anxiety and depression. Strong writing skills are also required. This role will apply clinical knowledge and expertise to support the development of Lyra’s AI tools.

You will be part of a highly skilled and collaborative team with an established track record of cross functional collaboration for the development of clinical technology. By directly reaching hundreds of thousands of clients, your work on developing clinical AI tools will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale. 

Your work will include:

  • Selecting and developing comprehensive sets of clinical scenarios that are representative of client situations (safety, distress) to support AI tools development
  • Writing sets of gold standard responses to specific clinical situations to maximize clinical effectiveness and helpfulness of AI tools
  • Evaluating AI responses in a systematic and reliable way to ascertain level of clinical quality
  • Synthesizing areas of improvement for AI tools to meet clinical safety and effectiveness criteria
  • Cross functional collaboration with other teams to support the development of AI tools

Requirements

  • MS, MA, MSW, PsyD,PhD in Clinical / Counseling psychology
  • Licensed therapist with 4+ years of direct clinical work post-graduation
  • Strong writing skills to convey clinical concepts and maximize clinical impact
  • Passionate about disseminating evidence based therapy by leverage technology on a large scale
  • Strong training in and experience in safety risk assessment and management (SI, self-harm)
  • Excellent training in and deep understanding of evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, IPT, EFT, ACT) 
  • Strong case conceptualization, treatment planning skills
  • Training and experience teaching skills groups directly to clients (DBT, CBT, MBSR) 
  • Strong training in and experience providing culturally responsive care is preferred
  • Independent, flexible, can navigate uncertainty well, thrives in a fast-paced, high change, dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, compassionate, and open-minded
This position can be fully remote or hybrid (i.e., 2 days onsite at our Burlingame office, 3 days from home).
